Dean Israelite is next set to direct the elevated TV show, “Chief,” a sociopolitical thriller that tackles the world of ivory poaching in Central Africa. Set up with the Russo Brothers' studio AGBO, Dean has written and created the show, and will act as Executive Producer. Midnight Radio are also producing. 

 
Dean recently directed POWER RANGERS for Lionsgate, which premiered in March 2017, opening domestically to $40M; the film went on to gross over $142M worldwide and earned a coveted A CinemaScore. The movie starred Elizabeth Banks and multiple Golden Globe and Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston and was written by Oscar-nominated writer John Gatins. Dean’s breakout came in 2015 with the release of his debut film PROJECT ALMANAC, which he directed for Paramount Pictures, produced by Michael Bay.
 
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dean received his MFA from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. Dean wrote and directed the award winning short film ACHOLILAND, which screened at numerous film festivals, winning, among other accolades, three Student Emmys as well as a BAFTA/LA Award.
